High School Graduation Awards

 

Vista Oaks is proud to recognize the excellent academic achievement of its students. Below is a list of some of the awards and recognition Vista Oaks’ students can earn.

    • Graduating with Honors - Students who have met the rigorous “a-g” requirements outlined by the University of California’s Office of the President with a minimum of a 3.0 Weighted GPA will be recognized.
 
    • California Golden State Seal Merit Diploma - The Golden State Seal Merit Diploma recognizes graduates who have demonstrated their mastery of the high school curriculum in at least six subject areas, which include English language arts, mathematics, science, and U.S. history. This very special diploma is awarded jointly by the State Board of Education and the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. 
 
    • College Career Indicator - Vista Oaks celebrates students who are considered “prepared” on the College and Career Indicator (CCI) prior to graduation. The CCI recognizes graduates who have demonstrated readiness through a variety of measures, which may include completing rigorous coursework, passing challenging exams, or meeting career readiness criteria.  
 
  • Reclassified English Language Learner - Vista Oaks celebrates students who were originally classified as English Learners (EL) but have since met the state’s criteria to become fluent English speakers.
 
  • Career Technical Pathway Completion - Vista Oaks celebrates students who complete a Career Technical Pathway prior to graduation. 
 
  • California State Seal of Biliteracy - Vista Oaks recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages, in addition to English.
