Transitional Kindergarten

Vista Oaks now offers Transitional Kindergarten (TK) to all students who turn 4 years old on or by September 1st of the school year. TK bridges the path between preschool and Kindergarten that will help students build a strong foundation for future school success. Students attend TK for one year and after that, they go into Kindergarten.

Birthday Examples

  • A child’s birthday is August 29, 2022 = they are eligible for TK in 2026/2027 as they will turn 4 on or before September 1st.
 
  • A child’s birthday is September 2nd, 2022 = they are not eligible for TK in 2026/2027 as they will turn 4 after September 1st.
 
  • A child’s birthday is April 3, 2021 = they are not eligible for TK in 2026/2027 as they will turn 5 BUT they are eligible for Kindergarten.
